Why become a member of CIT La Palma?
1. At present, the CIT Tedote is responsible for the management of the Tourist Offices in El Paso, Los Cancajos, Los Llanos de Aridane and Puerto Naos, where you can display leaflets and visiting cards of your business or establishment. At these offices, consumer satisfaction surveys are carried out to ascertain the island’s weak points, and the interests and demands of visitors. The results are passed on to the parties concerned, so that appropriate action can be taken.
2. All members of the association are advertised in a map-guide of La Palma, containing relevant information for locating and contacting associated companies, street plans of the main town centres, details about museums, local produce markets, places of interest, etc., and which is used in promotional events in which the CIT Tedote takes part, at island, regional, national and international level. Copies of this map are distributed at the Tourist Offices in El Paso, Los Cancajos, Los Llanos de Aridane and Puerto Naos, at the associated businesses who wish to do so, at fairs and promotions we attend, via mailing to travel agencies or through direct contact with them, etc. Similarly, the new Gastronomy and Leisure Guides include information on our associates by sub-sector, presented to visitors in a concise and practical way. Likewise, an Accommodation, Travel Agencies and Car Rental Guide will be published shortly.
3. The CIT Tedote La Palma has its own website: www.lapalmacit.com where your establishment will be advertised. Additionally, you can launch internal offers (for association members only), and external offers (for the general public visiting the website), by intranet access with a personalised code enabling you to add/erase/modify your offers and promotions. At present, this website receives over 100 visits per day.
4. The CIT Tedote La Palma is an association with the organizing capacity to apply for subsidies, offer assessment to our associates, organize events, etc. In addition, we will keep you informed on subjects of general interest, such as courses, talks, training sessions, subsidies, etc. The CIT Tedote La Palma promotes and collaborates with other official bodies (Tourist Board, Town Halls, Chamber of Commerce, etc.) in promotional and animation activities.
5. Being part of this Association enables you to share common expenses, for example, when carrying out certain administrative procedures, doing external promotional work, attending fairs and promotional events, etc.
6. The CIT holds periodic meetings with its members, thus favouring communication and dialogue, while helping to contribute ideas and exert greater pressure to achieve common goals. In such a dynamic and changing area as tourism, reliable information is vital. These meetings will enable you to express your concerns and needs, which will be brought to the attention of the appropriate parties.
7. From the Tourist Offices activities to dynamise tourism are carried out aimed at entertaining and creating positive experiences among the tourists who visit us: free tasting of typical local products such as mojo sauces, wines, cheeses, sweets, … celebrating specific days according to tradition: Day of the Canary Islands, Saint Martin’s Day, …holding farmers’ markets to encourage consumption of local and island produce, etc.
